Hundemaske 41

The purpose of this mask is to give the dog respiratory protection against chemical warfare.

Only the canisters are marked: "HFE 41". The decontamination container in the carrier is marked: "Tier - Entgiftungsbüchse 42".

The mask consists of a black molded facepiece, head harness, two canisters and a carrier which has a pocket for the Animal Decontaminant 42.

The facepiece, made of black rubber, has a flap at the back, folding inward to aid in making an airtight fit. The headstraps are a black rubber coated fiber. The eyepiece as-sembly consists of a removable ring, metal ring, lens, gasket, anti-dim disc, retaining ring, crimp ring, and anti-dim retainer.

The canisters are held in place on each side of the facepiece by two rims which screw over the canisters and tighten them against the facepiece. The valve assembly housing, a light aluminum alloy casting is set in the nose of the face-piece.

The carrier consists of a tan canvas haversack and is described under item IV–D–6.
