Kohlenoxydanzeiger

This kit is used for detecting carbon monoxide in enclosed places, such as the interior of field fortifications, tanks, etc.

The cover of carrying case is stencilled with the word "Kohlenoxydanzeiger".

The set is contained in a dark green or gray painted wooden case measuring 4.7 x 6 x 11.2 inches. It has a canvas carrying strap attached to the lid. The case is divided into 3 compartments by sheets of plywood; one contains the pump; another, the detector tube container, and the third, the glass bowl for receiving used tubes. The pump is des-cribed under Pump, CO Detector, item IV–C–19.

The detector tube container consists of a rectangular green-gray or dark green pain-ted steel box measuring 5.7 x 5 x 1.8 inches. A knife edge is attached to the lid for opening the tubes; a color chart is fixed to the top of the lid. Two steel loops for carry-ing the case on the belt are spot-welded to the front. The tube-holding frame is made of light tan plastic and fits over a sponge rubber zat on the bottom of the case; this serves as a rest for the ends of the tubes. The container holds 33 tubes.

The bowl is made of heavy glass, rectangular in shape, open at the top, and measu-res 2.3 x 4 x 4.4 inches.
