These tubes are used to detect presence of carbon monoxide in the atmosphere.

The tubes have no markings of identification value.

The tubes are made of thin glass, sealed at both ends; one end tapers to a point, and the other end is rounded. They are 4.2 inches long and 0.4 inches in diameter.

The contents of the tube (from the pointed end to the rounded one) are as follows: glas wool, impregnated silica gel, white silica gel, and glass wool impregnated with a light blue substance.

The tubes are packed in the containers described under Kit, Testing, Field, CO, item IV–C–21.
