| PURPOSE: |

This canister is used to give the respiratory system protection against dust; it is used in connection with a dust mask. |

The blue band of paper around the canister is marked as follows: "Filtereinsatz Nr. 88 A/3 (Filtereinsatz A mit Schwebstoffilter und Wattervorfilter)". |
| DESCRIPTION: |
|
The canister is painted brown and constructed similarly to the standard German drum type gas mask canister with the exception that the bottom has an attached cotton pre-filter. The overall height of the canister is 4 inches and the maximum diameter, 3.8 in-ches. The standard threaded outlet neck is closed with a metal screw cap. The dust fil-ter consists of paper filters within the canister and the cotton prefilter pad covering the inlet which is 0.9 inches in diameter. The cotton pad and holder are 3 inches in diameter. |
