These stockings serve to protect the dog's feet and legs from any contaminated soil and grass. They are used chiefly in the training of gas detection dogs.

There are no markings of identification value.

The stockings are made of rubber and consist of a foot cover, extending half way up the dog's leg, and the footstrap. The stockings are made in only one size and are inter-changeable among all four legs. They have an overall length of 10 inches and the base measures 2 x 2 inches.

The strap is actually a separate item and is tightened around the stocking near the bottom of the dog's leg.
