COVER, PROTECTIVE, HORSE

The purpose of this sheet is to protect the underbelly and points of flexure of the horse against liquid present on high grass or bushes.

The only markings are directions for use.

DESCRIPTION:

The sheet, made of oppanol-coated fabric, is rectangular in shape, 62.5 inches long and 45.4 inches wide, except on the front end where there is a short 6.5 inch sleeve-like projection. This projection is made of double thickness material and opens on the front side to fit around the horse's leg where it is secured by two leather straps and buckles. There are also two leather loops on the side of the sleeve for some other straps to hold the sleeve tighly around the horse's leg. All the points of attachment for straps and buckles are reinforced by leather pads.

The complete cover is designed to protect the entire underbelly parts of the horse and comes in two equivalent parts, one for the right side and one for the left. The bot-tom side is black and the top, tan, and apparently processed by coating the base fabric first with the black compound and then with the tan. The right side cover is marked "rechts" and the left side, "links".
