| PURPOSE: |
|
The purpose of this canister is to given the dog some respiratory protection against chemical warfare; it is used in conjunction with the Dog Gas Mask 41. |

The canister has the marking printed on the side: "HFE 41". |
| DESCRIPTION: |
|
The canister is constructed of thin metal and painted olive green; it resembles a cy-linder, one end of which has a slightly reduced diameter. It measures 1.9 inches in overall length and 3.3 inches in overall width. The lower end (inlet) is closed by a perforated disc and the upper end (outlet) has a flutter valve, held in place by a knob at the cen-ter. The canister is held in place on the Dog Gas Mask 41 by a rim which fits over it and screws on the threaded openings on the sides of the facepiece. |
