| PURPOSE: |

The purpose if this canister is to give the horse some respiratory protection during chemical warfare, when used in connection with a nose insert. |
| MARKINGS: |

The markin "PFE 41" is embossed on the top the canister. |
| DESCRIPTION: |
|
The canister is made of tin plate, painted dark green and has an overall height of 3.4 inches and a diameter of 5.1 inches. It is sealed at the top with a round metal screw cap with a rubber washer and at the bottom with a metal plug which has a pressed paper cover which covers the complete inner side of the plug. The container is made of two parts, a shallow base plate and the canister body; the base plate fits lightly over the body about 1/3 of the distance from the bottom. |

The canister screws into a bakelite nose insert which contains the inlet and outlet valve assemblies. |
