These boots are worn as anti-gas protection for the feet and legs during decontami-nation work.

The typ of the outside of the boot is stamped with the size number and the year of manufacture; the boot under examination was marked: "Gr. 10 V 1942". There are no identification markings.

The boot is made of heavy black rubberized fabric. The size with the above marking has an overall length of 39 inches; the length of the slipper is 12 inches. The inside of the leg of the boot is cut away to fit the crotch.

The leg of the boot is vulcanized to the rubber slipper which has 4 inch sides; at this point of connection, the leg part is 10 inches wide, and at the top, 13 inches wide. A strap is connected to the top of the outside of the leg for purposes of supporting the boot. This strap is adjustable and is connected to a belt worn about the waist or to spe-cial straps on the rubber pants being worn.
