| PURPOSE: |

These boots are worn as anti-gas protection for the feet and legs during decontami-nation work. |
| MARKINGS: |
|
The typ of the outside of the boot is stamped with the size number and the year of manufacture; the boot under examination was marked: "Gr. 10 V 1942". There are no identification markings. |
| DESCRIPTION: |
|
The boot is made of heavy black rubberized fabric. The size with the above marking has an overall length of 39 inches; the length of the slipper is 12 inches. The inside of the leg of the boot is cut away to fit the crotch. |
|
The leg of the boot is vulcanized to the rubber slipper which has 4 inch sides; at this point of connection, the leg part is 10 inches wide, and at the top, 13 inches wide. A strap is connected to the top of the outside of the leg for purposes of supporting the boot. This strap is adjustable and is connected to a belt worn about the waist or to spe-cial straps on the rubber pants being worn. |
