The purpose of these shorts is to serve as the anti-gas pants of the "Light Protective Clothing 39". When modified, they are also used as anti-gas protection for the chest and back.

No markings and identification value are present.

The pants consists of a pair of shorts with draw tapes around the waist and the bot-toms of the legs. The waist is 61 inches and the lenght from the waist to the bottom of the legs is 25 inches; the length from the crotch to the bottom of the legs is 11 inches.

The fabric of the pants is a light gray cloth, closely woven and lined on the in-side with rubber.

When the user deems it necessary be may cut a slit in the crotch of an extra pair of pants to make an opening for his neck and then slip the garment over his head using the legs for sleeves. This scheme provides more complete protection for the wearer's back and chest.
