The purpose of this overall is to serve as the anti-gas protection for the chest, arms, shoulders and trunk when the "Light Protective Clothing 37" is worn.

No markings and identification value are present.

The coverall consists of a pair of shorts with an upper section sewed on to provide protection for the chest, arms, shoulders and trunk. The waist of the garment is 62 in-ches, the length from the waist to the bottom of the legs is 27 inches, and the length from the crotch to the bottom of the legs is 12 inches. The front reaches up around the neck to be fastened together at the back of the neck with a black plastic knob-type button. This frontpiece also protects the sides of the wearer; but the back, from the waist up, is exposed. The sleeves reach down to the wrist of the average person; and 5.5 inches up from the open end of each, there are two small black metal snap clamps, 4.5 inches apart, used to help secure the gloves to the sleeves.

There are two 42.5 inch suspender straps sewed to the rear of the waist and they pass over the shoulders of the wearer to be fastened to the inside front of the waist of the overalls by means of two buttons. Each strap contains several reinforced button ho-les. In the rear of the waist, there are two metal eyelets, 14.5 inches apart, through which is passed a tape to be used to tighten the coverall about the waist; the tape is knotted on both ends to prevent it from slipping out of the eyelets. Attached to the but-ton hole which is used to fasten the top of the garmet around the neck is a short tape which is kept from hanging loose by passing under a cloth loop sewed to the front of the left shoulder. This tape is pulled to unfasten the top of the garment during the derobing procedure.

The overall is made in sections out of a slate gray fabric closely woven and lined with rubber; the sections are sewed together.
