| DESCRIPTION: |
|
This set dates back to 1916 and is no longer manufactured. It is fastened to a canvas square metal plate which is fitted with canvas flaps, bands and straps for carrying the apparatus in front of the body. It consists of the following parts: |
| 1. | Mouthpiece. | |
| 2. | Single rubber connecting hose. | |
| 3. | Valve enclosure. | |
| 4. | Inhalation valve. | |
| 5. | Exhalation valve. | |
| 6. | Oxygen cylinder. | |
| 7. | Main valve on oxygen cylinder. | |
| 8. | Pressure Gauge. | |
| 9. | Press button for additional supply quantity. | |
| 10. | Colling tube. | |
| 11. | Alkali cartridge. | |
| 12. | Breathing sack. |
|
The valve enclosure contains the inhalation and exhalation tubes which in turn con-tain the valves thereby enabling the use of only one connecting hose to the facepiece or mouthpiece. When using the mouthpiece, a noseclip is fastened on the nose to close the nostrils. |
|
The hose can be attached to the standard facepiece in which the valves are removed and the outlet valve opening covered with a screw cap. |
|
The oxygen supply is enough for 70 minutes medium work; the equipment also inclu-des a hypodermic syringe for injecting lobelin, in case of filling. The breathing bag hangs below the sodium hydroxide cartridge. |
