The purpose of the carrier is to provide a carrying haversack for the Gas Mask 30 or 38, and accessory equipment to be used by paratroopers.

No significant markings for positively identifying the carrier are present.

The carrier is a field gray, light canvas haversack, approximately 11 inches in height, having two metal snap fasteners at the closing flap on the top, and a zipper-type faste-ner along the side. On the inside are a pouch for anti-dim discs and eyepiece cleaning cloth, a rubber, fabric, or leather pad of approximately 4.8 inches square, and a rubber plug for the neck of the canister. A webbing carrying strap and a webbing and clasp at-tachment complete the carrier assembly.
