The purpose of the carrier is to provide an individual haversack for the assembled Gas Mask 24 and accessory equipment.

Manufacturers' and goverment markings may be present.

A triangular shaped, partially leather lined, field gray canvas facepiece carrier is atta-ched by means of three leather straps to a box shaped leather canister carrier. The overall length of the facepiece carrier is 20.5 inches, and its width at the top is 8.3 in-ches. The leather canister carrier is 7.5 inches long and has an elliptical cross section measuring 5.5 inches by 2.4 inches. The facepiece carrier contains two pockets 5 inches deep, sewn between the leather and the canvas outer leayer. A web carrying strap, a leather strap on the rear of the facepiece carrier, and a strap assembly on the side of the canister carrier secure the assembly to the wearer's body.
