| PURPOSE: |

The purpose of the carrier is to provide an individual haversack for the assembled Gas Mask 24 and accessory equipment. |

| DESCRIPTION: |
|
This is an rectangular shaped, field gray canvas haversack, measuring 3.2 x 10 x 12 inches. The seams are sewn and reinforced with leather. The interior of the carrier is di-vided in two compartments by means of a vertical strip of canvas, and the compart-ments are lined with leather for about one-half of the distance from the top. The carrier is closed by a canvas flap with leather straps. The flap partially covers a small canvas pouch with a leather cover. The base of the carrier is perforated, the holes being trim-med with brass eyelets. A canvas carrying strap and three leather straps for attachment to the wearer's belt complete the assembly. |
