CO-112

The purpose of this canister is to provide civilians with protection against carbon mo-noxide. It is designed for assembly with the standard German face-piece.

Printed in white on a black band in the middle of the top half of the canister is the fol-lowing: CO Filter Type 112. The manfacturer's name is also on the band. Lower on the canister is a white gummed label with the following: CO Filter 112. The manufacturer's markings are also present.

The canister is cylindrical with an elliptical cross section and made of steel plate pain-ted a greenish-gray. The top end plate is slightly countersunk, carrying in the center the outlet neck, closed by a screw cap. In the bottom of the outlet neck there is a rubber disc valve. The bottom end plate is also countersunk at the rim but protrudes at the center, having an internal inlet neck, closed by means of a rubber washer and a screw stopper.

A carrying satchel is provided, consisting of a thick canvas pad on which the canister is secured by two circumferential straps. To the lower one of these, two cross straps are sewed to retain the canister in position against the pad ???? it is carried in a slung posi-tion.
