These tubes produce a screening smoke which can also be used for signaling purpose. |

The markings "Nb 39" is stencilled in blue on the body of the tube. |
| DESCRIPTION: |
|
The tube is made of aluminum painted metal and measures 1 inch in diameter and 9.5 inches long. The green colored cardboard container holds 10 tubes and has a gummed label on the front reading: "10 Stück Rauchröhre Nb 39". The burning time of the tubes is about 1.5 minutes; the smoke mix-ture is a tightly packed fine powder consisting of HC. The tubes are set off with the standard smoke starter cylinder and pull igniter. |
