DESCRIPTION

The striker (1) fits into the central cavity of the fuze and is held off the primer (2) by a creep spring (3). The safety pin is attached to a safety fork (6).

OPERATION

The safety screw (5) is removed when the float is loaded. On release of the float, the safety fork (6) and pin (4) are removed, leaving the striker (1) supported only by the creep spring (3) and strikes the primer (2). This sets off the explosive train.
