DESCRIPTION |
The striker (1) fits into the central cavity of the fuze and is held off the primer (2) by a creep spring (3). The striker is held up by the creep spring and by the safety pin (4) and safety screw (5). The last two named parts protrude through the body and into holes in the striker body. The safety pin is attached to a safety fork (6). |
OPERATION |
The safety screw (5) is removed when the float is loaded. On release of the float, the safety fork (6) and pin (4) are removed, leaving the striker (1) supported only by the creep spring (3) and strikes the primer (2). This sets off the explosive train. |
