It differs in other respects from the later version only in the method of filling, which in this case comprises a direct cast T.N.T. bursting charge of weight 9 1/2 ozs. The explo-der system comprises a ballistite gaine and exploder the latter contained in a cardboard tube within an aluminium sheath. The gaine is the 2.3 gram type described in Pamphlet No. 7. The exploder weighs 13 grams.
