REMARKS – The device is used for air navigation over water. After removing the tear strip, the marker is droped manually into the water. The water reacts with the calcium carbide mixture to ignite the acetylene. It will burn with a bright flame for five to ten mi-nutes. The sea marker compound leaves a fluroescent patch on the surface. An ANAB-2.5 has also been reported with a burning time of 15 mi-nutes. |
