Üeb.-Spürpapier

The purpose of this paper is to detect mustard gas in the liquid form.

The packet is marked: "25 Blatt Ueb.-Spürpapier", and likewise the instruction sheet glued to the front of the packet.

The paper is colored light pink and comes in the form of a tablet of 25 sheets measur-ing 4.7 x 7.1 inches; the pad has a stiff cardboard back and a tan colored front. The pad is contained in a double light green paper envelope which is opened by pulling the string which hangs free at the top of the packet.

Liquid mustard and other materials, such as fats, oils and benzene, produce dark red spots on the paper after several minutes.
