The purpose of this pipe is to replace the gas and smoke canisters in a collective pro-tector installation when there is no immediate danger of gas. The installation can then be used for ventilation purposes.

The pipe has a red striped band about its center with the marking "1,2" or "2,4" pain-ted on the band in white.

The "1.2" tube consists of a length of 3 inch plastic pipe, 16.3 inches long and threa-ded on both ends. It is intended to replace the 1.2 smoke and gas canisters when the collective protector installation is being used for ventilation purposes.

The "2.4" tube consists of a 19.7 inch length of plastic pipe, 4.3 inches in diameter; it replaces the "2.4" gas and smoke canisters in a similar manner to the "1.2" tube.
