DESCRIPTION: |
The canister is a cylindrical metal drum, olive-green in color and mounted on three stoel casters; the overall height is 51 inches and the overall diameter, 35.5 inches; the gross weight is 594 pounds. The cover of the canister is fitted with a rubber washer and bolted to the canister proper. |
The inlet neck is centrally welded in the cover and the outlet neck is welded in the wall of the body near the base; both flanged necks have openings by which they can be bolted to other components. Each neck is equipped with a rubber washer and an iron co-ver used to seal the neck when the canister is not in use; the wall of each neck has a brass gas-cock. The base of the canister contains a central opening which can be used as an alternate air outlet depending on the position of the canister. |
The top section of the canister contains the charcoal and the bottom, the mechanical filter which consists of layers of asbestos bearing paper. The canister has a capacity of 10 cubic meters of air per minute. |
