FILTER, CHARCOAL, CONTAMINATED WATER
Kampfstoff-Wasserfilter
 
PURPOSE:

The purpose of this filter is to remove gas contaminants from a water supply by means of adsorption.

MARKINGS:

The container is stencilled in white "Kampfstoff-Wasserfilter".

DESCRIPTION:

The apparatus is packed in a gray-painted wooden container measuring 1.6 x 1.7 x 2.9 feet, the top being a hinged cover. The apparatus fits on supporting racks and is strapped into position in the box. The 20 pound bag of charcoal is fitted into the contai-ner loose.

The cylinder (C) measures 10 inches in diameter and 2.5 feet tall and is connected to the water receiver (A) by the rubber hose (B). Cylinder (C) is filled with charcoal and the filtered water is drawn from the tap near the left-handle handle on (C). Container (A) is not fixed in its position; it rests in the recess on the top of (C). Both cylinders (A) and (C) are surfaced with blue vitreous enamel.
