| PURPOSE: |

Decontaminant 40 is intended for the decontamination of nitrogen mustard; it may also be used for other vesicants. |
| MARKINGS: |

The lid of the drum container may be marked "Entgiftungsstoff 40" and may have ma-nufacturers' markings. |
| DESCRIPTION: |
|
Decontaminant 40 is packed in corrugated metal drums similar to those discribed under item IV–A–8. The smaller size contains 30 kg of Decontaminant 40, and the larger, 60 kg. The decontaminant is a white powder with an intense odor of chlorine. The drums are painted red-brown on the outside and lacquered on the inside. |
