The purpose of these canister is to dispense large amouts of decontaminant powder on large horizontal surfaces or the ground.

There are no markings of identification value.

The container is metal, painted greenish gray, and of the refillable type, holding 10 kg, of losantin or any other decontaminant of similar nature. It is square in cross-section and has at each and a circular recess with an internal screw thread into which the lid in screwed. At one end, under the lid, there is a sieve held in position by a retaining ring; to fill the can, this sieve is removed. To use the shaker, the lid is removed and screwed into the bottom end; the contents of the can is then scattered through the sieve by shaking or swinging the can, holding it by the handle on the lid.

The overall measurements are: 8 x 8 x 14.5 inches.
