The weapon decontaminating set is issued for the dcontamination of small weapons.

The label on the carrying case is marked: "Waffenentgiftungsmittel, Gebrauchsanwei-sung".

The weapon decontaminating set in contained in a hard fiber, dark brown, varnished container 5 inches in diameter and 14 inches long with a slip-on cover of the same ma-terial. The cover is held in place by a cotton webbing strap running through slots on the sides of the container and lid. Directions for use of the set are printed on the label glued to the outside of the carrier and inside the cover.

The carrier contains a flask of weapon decontaminant liquid, a flask of cleaning oil, and two cleaning cloths.

The flask of decontaminating liquid is enclosed in a loose protective fiber container, the cap of the flask projecting through an opening in the top of the container. The con-tainer is labeled "Waffenentgiftungsmittel". The flask itself may be made of heavy, clear glass or of red-brown plastic fitted with a red or brown plastic, hexagonal screw cap, and a platic-mounted bruen held in place in the neck of the bottle. The flask measures 8 inches high and 4 inches in diameter and contains a clear yellow solution having a strong chlorine odor.

The container of cleaning oil is a brown enameled, light aluminum can, sealed by a black hexagonal screw cap, into which is fixed a brush in a metal holder. The cap is em-bossed with the words: "Reinigungsöl, schütteln vor Gebrauch". The can measures 5.5 in-ches high and 4 inches in diameter. The liquid is milky in appear-ance and consists of an emulsion of spindle oil in an equal volume of water.

The two wiping cloths (15 x 15 inches) are made of a heavy cotton material; one is red, and the other black.
