This tarred paper is used to lay down a protective pathway over a contaminated area.

The roll of paper is wrapped in brown kraft paper marked with the word: "Gasläufer". If the marking is "Gasläufer, getarnt", the tar paper has the standard German carmouflaging on it.

The roll of tar paper is 3.9 feet wide and consists of a strong grade of paper coated with black tar; and in the case of the camouflaged type, the German brown, yellow and green camouflaging is painted over the tar coating. The label on the roll states that the paper is strong enough to allow 200 men to pass over it.
