This salve is applied as first aid treatment to eyen contaminated with irritant gases. |

The tubes of salve have "Alkalische Augensalbe" printed on the sides. |
| DESCRIPTION: |
|
The salve is packed in aluminum tubes fitted with black plastic or aluminum screw-type caps; in some cases the tubes are painted white. They are made in two sizes: 0.8 inches in diameter and 3.5 inches long, or 0.6 inches in diameter and 2.8 inches long. The salve is a thick creamy white, odorless ointment consisting of borax, sodium bicarbo-nate, lanolin, and petrolatum. |
