The purpose of this ointment is to decontaminate blister gases on the skin.

The fiber container is marked "Hautentgiftungssalbe" on the side and "HAUT" on each end. The label on the plastic flask is marked "Hautentgiftungssalbe (41)" and likewise the bottom of the flask except for the number "41".

The container is made of orange fiber and has a slip-on cover fastened by a thin strip of pliable white plastic. Inside the cover in each side there are three gas casualty swabs. The overall dimensions of the container and cover are 0.9 x 2.7 x 4 inches.

The plastic flask is colored bright orange and has a screw-on cap fastened to the flask by a short string. The flask body measures 0.7 x 2.5 x 2.5 inches. The neck and cover project 1.2 inches from the top of the flask. The contents of the flask is a light yellow slightly viscous ointment with a chlorine odor and pours with difficulty from the opening which is 0.18 inches in diameter.
