The pourpose of this jacket is to serve as part of a heavy anti-gas suit for deconta-mination work.

There are no markings of identification value.

The jacket is 3/4 length with hood attached. The hood has an elastic rubber fitting band which fits over the gas mask and buttons at the bottom. The lower front of the hood has a separate flap which buttons on the right side. The front of the jacket is clo-sed by six buttons and a black rubberized fabric belt. All the above buttons are the black plastic knob-type found on the other heavy rubber protective clothing. The button holes for the above buttons are all reinforced by rubber patches. The ends of the sleeves have short heavy rubber cuffs which have thick rubber fitting rings at the edges. The rubber gloves stretch over these fittings rings to make gas-tight seals.

The jacket proper is made of gray-green rubber with fabric embedded in its center. There are some jackets similar to the above described type but without attached hoods.
