III–D–21

The purpose of this tube is to make possible the attachment of two canisters to the German facepiece. The tube is always used in conjunction with a hose.

There are no markings of identification value.

The tube is made of a gray metal and has an overall length of 4.5 inches. The exter-nal diameter of each of the shorter arms of the "Y" is 1.2 inches and that of the thick arm (externally threaded end) is 1.3 inches. The two internally threaded ends have rub-ber washers to make gas-tight seals with canisters; the externally threaded end fits the internally threaded coupling of the gas mask hose (III–D–22).
