These spectacles are designed for use with the gask mask for soldiers who ordinarily wear glasses.

The cover of the case is marked "Masken-Brille". A manufacturers' stamp may be found on the front side of the case.

The glasses are contained in a gray painted metal box 5 x 1.8 x 7 inches. Enclosed are two cards: the blue one gives a diagram and instructions for preparing the spectac-les for use; the other card, colored green, gives the prescription of the spectacle lenses, and may have the manufacturers' name printed in the lower left hand corner. Both cards are kept in the container under a cardboard pad covered with blue felt to prevent scrat-ching of the lenses. The pad is provided with a paper tab on one end for easy lifting.

The eyeglass frames are made of gray painted, light metal. There are no temples pro-vided, the glasses being adjusted by threading a ribbon through a double flat slotted me-tal holder. These holders are attached to the eyeglass frame by small screws in the same fashion as ordinary temples and form a single loop which fits over the ear and allows the gas mask facepiece to make a gas-tight fit with the face.
