| PURPOSE: |

The purpose of these is to prevent the fogging of gas mask lenses by moisture in ex-treme cold. |

On the envelopes is the marking "Klarscheibe, napfförmig". The discs are marked "Kug, Innenseite". |
| DESCRIPTION: |
|
The discs come in sets of two in a thin paper envelope and they are separated from each other by a piece of glazed paper. A cardbord discs is found in the cup of one of the discs. The disc itself is 2.3 inches in diameter, and is composed of transparent plastic with a coating of gelantin on the side marked "Innenseite". It is bowl-shaped, being 0.1 inches in depth, and at the outer edge where the taper begins, there is a straight edge 0.15 inches in width. The bottom of the disc measures 1.9 inches in diameter. |

The disc fits over the standard anti-dim disc to produce an air gap which acts as in-sulation to help prevent fogging in extremely cold weather; it can also be used directly over the gas mask lens without the standard anti-dim disc. |
