The box is the packing container and the carrier for the civilian gas mask "M 44". |
| MARKINGS: |

There are no identification markings present. The number stamped on the out-side re-fers to the size of the mask. |
| DESCRIPTION: |
|
The box is rectangular, measuring 4 x 7 x 7.3 inches. The top, bottom, and the two narrow sides (4 x 7.3 inches) are made of unpainted wood; the other two sides are made of pressed fiberboard. The cover and two narrow sides are provided with 0.2 inch holes for attaching the carrying cord. Originally, the top of the case is sealed with gummed pa-per. |
