| PURPOSE: |

The purpose of this canister is to remove chemical warfare agents from the atmos-phere, when used in conjunction with a connecting hose and face-piece |

This group of canisters includes all those marked "FB 41". Additional goverment and manufacturers' markings are present. |
| DESCRIPTION: |
|
The canister are box-type in shape and constructed of green lacquered ribbed tin plate. The overall dimensions of the cross section are 2.6 x 4.8 inches, and the height is 8.4 inches. When new, the rectangular inlet orifice in the base is sealed with a strip of adhesive, while the outlet at the neck is closed with a metal screw cap. A rubber disc in-let valve is located in the neck of the canister. |

The sectionalized view shows the three layers of filling found in this type of canister. The top two layer consists of extruded charcoal, and the bottom layer consists of plea-ted paper. |
