| DESCRIPTION: |

This flamethrower utilizies the "41 W" projector and weighs 47 pounds when loaded. The fuel tank is shaped like a lifebuoy, bound externally with reinforcing wires, and con-tains the fuel and the nitrogen under pressure. The external diameter is 17 inches and the inner diameter 7 inches. The fuel tank contains 1.5 gallons of fuel and 140 cubic in-ches of nitrogen under a pressure of 440 pounds per square inch. The hydrogen contai-ner is similar to the fuel container, but much smaller, and fits over the central opening in the fuel container; the hydrogen is under a pressure of 300 pounds per sqaure inch. The outlet valve from the fuel container is at the bottom of the pack and is connected by a flexible hose to the projector. |

The maximum range of the flamthrower is 25 yards and it can operate continuously for 8 seconds. The flamethrower is fastened to a steel framework which is fitted with web carrying straps. |
