The purpose of this equipment is to provide a protable fuel supply for the flame-thrower projector 41W or the 41P model.

A nameplate on the nitrogen cylinder is marked with the word: "Stickstoff".

The apparatus is made of steel and painted sand brown. The fuel cylinder contains 7.4 quarts of fuel oil and mensures 9 inches in diameter; its overall height is 13.5 inches; the operating pressure is 25 atmospheres. The nitrogen cylinder is held securely in place on the carrier by an elastic steel coil spring which also fits around the fuel cylinder. The nitrogen cylinder measures 5.5 inches in diameter and 13.5 inches in overall height; its operating pressure is 30 atmospheres. The rubber hose which connects the fuel cylinder to the projector is covered with pliable steel braid; the hose is 34 inches long and has a internal diameter of 1 inch.

The nitrogen cylinder is attached to the fuel cylinder by means of a 0.5 inch metal tube and union; the shutoff valve for the nitrogen cylinder is connected on the nitrogen side of the union. The nitrogen inlet to the fuel cylinder is 3.3 inches up from the bottom of the fuel cylinder; the outlet from the nitrogen cylinder is 4 inches down from the top of the nitrogen cylinder. The outlet valve on the fuel cylinder is attached 3 inches from the top; the metal covered hose is connected directly to this valve. The union on the other end of the hose will fit either the projector 41P or the 41W model.

The carrier consists of a rectangular metal rod framework to which the cylinders are attached and also the canvas carrying straps. Two sets of elastic, steel, coil springs are attached vertically on both sides of the frame-work and serve as back rests.
