This smoke generator is used in multiple units to screen large areas.

The compressed air cylinder is marked: "Pressluft"; the drume of smoke acid are mar-ked: "Nebelsäure".

The apparatus consists of a barrel of smoke acid, a compressed air cylinder, the spray tube and nozzle, an acid syphon, and a pressure reducer. The thin wall type barrel of smoke is operated at a pressure of 50 pounds per square inch and the heavy type at a pressure of 120 pounds. The smoke acid consists of a liquid mixture of chlorsulphonic acid and sulfur trioxide. The compressed air cylinder has a capacity of 40 liters.

In operation, the barrel of smoke acid rests on the ground horizontally with the open-ing in the center facing upwards. The acid syphon is screwed into this opening and the 4 font spray tube is connected; the spray end of the latter is fitted with a circular metal disc. The compressed air cylinder is connected to the syphon tube through a pressure reducing valve and a rubber hose.
