Grosser Nebelzerstäuber

This sprayer is used to disperse screening smoke for air defense purpose.

There are no markings of identification value.

The sprayer is a dome topped heavy metal cylinder with two handles near the top. The cylinder is 36 inches high and 15 inches in diameter, the bottom being recessed about 3 inches. Projecting from the top near the edge is a 20 inch length of pipe and a shut-off valve. At the end to the pipe is a spray nozzle and a 12 inch circular shield around it. The tank holds approximately 25 liters (6 gallons) of smoke acid under a pres-sure of 120 pounds per sqaure inch. The operation time is about 40 minutes.
