PURPOSE:

This grenade serves the same purpose as the "1H" model but is more effective in a cold, dry climate.

The cardboard container may or may not be marked "Blendkörper 2H".

The grenade consists of an outer glass bulb and an inner glass tube sealed on the neck of the outer flask with a white plastic washer and a sulphur and cement plug. The solution of calcium chloride is supplied in the inner tube to provide the water necessary for the reaction producing the smoke and the calcium chloride has been added to lower the water's freezing point. The grenade contains 0.6 pounds of FM and about 36 ml. of the calcium chloride solution. The overall length is 4.8 inches, the maximum diameter, 2.5 inches, and the total weight 17 ounces. The grenades are packed in individual containers or in sets of four in larger card-board boxes.
