Schweres Wurfgerät

This Launcher fires the 28 and 32 cm rocket smoke projectiles.

There are no markings of identification value.

There are two types of this launcher: the type 40 with a wooden frame-work, and the type 41 with a steel framework. The framework holds 4 of the 28 or 32 cm "Wurfkörper" projectiles and is fired from a distance with a range of 2300 yards. The rocktes are fired from their packing cases. Both types of launchers are adjustable for elevation.

The 30 cm Chemical Rocket Launcher, Type 42 is similar in design and functioning to the above models. It consists of two rows of 3 metal launching cages mounted on a 2 wheel trailer. The 30 cm Chemical Rocket Launcher, Type 56 is similar to the 42 model and differs only in the type of trailer. The trailer has a split trailed carriage with solid ti-res. The weapon fires the same projectiles as the type 42, namely, the 30 cm "Wurfkör-per". The type 42 is called a "Nebelwerfer 42", while the type 56 is called a "Raketenwer-fer 56".
