16. General |

a. All antipersonnel mines dipend for initiation upon some action of the enemy. In gene-ral, as enemy personnel will not have the restrictions of vision that are imposed upon the driver of an armored vehicle, it is important that full advantage be taken of every oppor-tunity for oncealment. Therefore, antipersonnel mines and firing mechnisms used there-with will receive special attention to the maintenance of the neutral color and finish. |

b. In addition to standardized antipersonnel mines, this section also describes other items of demolition material from which antitank or antipersonnel mines may be improvi-sed. Firing mechanisms are described in section V. |
