Remarks:

A safety wire is removed when the bomb is loaded aboard the plane, and the vanes are freed on release. The vanes and vane cap totate off. On impact, the striker overcomes the creep spring and hits the detonator.

Remarks:

On Pistols No. 8, 9, and 13, a safety wire is withdrawn, when the bomb is loaded aboard the plane, and the vane are freed when the bomb is released. The vanes and vane cap rotate off, and on impact a shear wire is sheared, adn the striker hits the deto-nator.

Remarks:

On Pistols No. 14 and 15, the vanes are freed on release from the plane and screw the striker down. On impact, a pressure plate is driven down, shearing a shear wire, and forcing the striker into the detonator.
