Staubmaske

The purpose of this respirator is to protect the respiratory system against dust.

The face fitting rubber band has the marking "CLORA" on the upper edge that fits over the facepiece.

The respirator consists of the following main parts:

1. Head harness

2. Face fitting rubber band

3. Metal facepiece

4. Inlet valve

5. Outlet valve

6. Canister

The head harness consists of two black elastic bands which fit three buckles riveted to both sides of the facepiece. Two tapes with fit behind the head are sewed at 90 degrees angles to the ends of the two elastic bands; the two head tapes are non-elastic.

The face fitting rubber band is made of green, molded, synthetic rubber which fits over the nose and mouth and is stretched to fit on the metal facepiece.

The facepiece is a shallow aluminum cup crimped to the canister body which is made of the same metal. The connection betweens the canister and the face-piece consists of 5 holes, 0.4 inches in diameter arranged uniformly about a central knob which secures the thin rubber inlet valve. This rubber disc, 1.6 inches in diameter, covers the fit inlet openings. The opening for the outlet valve is in the facepiece just below the inlet valve openings. The valve is the flutter type, made of green rubber and fastened to the open-ing on the facepiece with a green rubber band.

The canister has a hinged bottom which has 0.4 inch perforations; the bottom is held in the closed position by a swing clasp and metal loop; its overall diameter is 3.9 inches. A wire gauze fits in the bottom and holds the cotton pad (A) against the concentric fol-der paper filter (B). This filter (B) has lips which fit over the edge the canister body to take a tight fit when the bottom is closed.
