| PURPOSE: |

These stons are used to train civilians in the use of screening smokes. |
| MARKINGS: |
|
One type of smoke stones has a label reading: "Nebelsteine, Weiss, Nw"; the other type is marked "Rauchstein". |
| DESCRIPTION: |
|
The "Rauchstein" type consists of a solid smoke mixture tightly packed in a paper wrapping and measuring 2 inches in diameter and 2.2 inches high. The "Nebelsteine" type are illustrated on the opposite page. They consists of white discs 0.4 inches thick and 1.8 inches in diameter and are packed in "tens" in transparent orange paper; the label is inside this wrapping. |
