TANK, SPRAY, AERIAL, S 200/V
Nebelgerät 200/V

PURPOSE:

This tank serves as a means of disseminating gases from an airplane.

MARKINGS:

There are no markings of identificaton value.

DESCRIPTION:

The spray tank assembly consists of a tank, a compressed air cylinder, projection pipe and nozzle and the necessary valves. The tank is dome shaped and tapers slightly to-wards the rear; it has a capacity of 35 gallons. The compressed air connections and re-ducing valve are located on the back of the tank and are protected by a conical shield to reduce wind resistance. The top of the the tank is fitted with a suspension lug for at-taching the tank to a plane. The projection pipe is fitted to the bottom of the tank and extends vertically for 12 inches and then points horizontally to the rear for 12 inches. Any one of 3 sizes of spray nozzles may be attached to this pipe. The 5 quart compres-sed air cylinder fits into a poc-ket in the bottom rear of the tank; it is connected to the pressure reducing as-sembly which reduces the pressure from 2250 to 45 pounds per square inch.

The filling plug is located at the top of the tank near the front. The tank contents may be released either by a mechanical closure device operated by the "Spray Tank Fuze 34" (II–A–3), or by means of the Magnetic Spray Tank Valve (II–A–2). Either device is attached to the end of the projection pipe. The complete tank assembly weighs 150 pounds when empty.

Another model (S 200 V/1) of this spray tank has a shorter projection tube and a mo-dified pressure reducing system.

The "S 300" Aerial Spray Tank holds 50 gallons of gas and its projection pipes (may be fitted with 2) are attached at the rear. The flow agent is controlled by the Magnetic Spray Valves mounted in the projection pipes (Magnetisches Ventil für Nebelgerät) or by valves operated by means of the "34" fuze.
