Bursting Charge

In addition to the Amatol filled shell described previously a sample of this shell has now been examined which is filled T.N.T.

The weight of the filling, which is cast, is 1.5 lb. approximately. The nature of filling is in-dicated by the stencilled figures 14.

Propellant

The tubular distance piece described in connection with the propellant charge (Pamphlet No. 7) has been found to be of the double based nitrocellulose – diethylene glycoldinitra-te type, of the following composition.
